Evaluation Activity 1

This screengrab from our film shows how the horror genre is introduced. During this scene the camera cuts to Kieran's character standing up, back to Charlotte's reaction to seeing him and back to Kieran's character who is now laying dead on the floor. This is a part of the horror genre as this shows a strange figure looking up at the window and then he is laying dead on the floor which may be a type of hallucination which is something that someone thinks is there but it's not real.

This screengrab from our film shows one of the settings/ locations. The location used in this screengrab is eerie and mysterious as it is similar to a forest but much smaller. This settings was a good place to film as when the audience sees the strange figure standing outside the house this will make them feel on edge for what is going to happen next.  This is stereotypical to the horror genre as the antagonist  remains unknown and is watching the protagonist from a distance without her knowing.

This screengrab from our film shows the opening of the film and how the story begins. The opening of the film begins with Charlotte who is one of the main characters moving into a house with her boyfriend Scott who Charlotte calls out to after entering the house (diegetic sound). This type of opening lets the audience get to know the characters, the settings and some of the story but not to much.
This screengrab from our film shows another location and how another character is introduced. The character introduced is Charlotte who is one of the main characters in the film. This is effective as the audience get to know a little bit about the story and gets to know about the  main character.  This scene is partly stereotypical to the horror genre as there are many what are located in a house and most of the time the characters in the film are moving into a new house.
This screengrab shows the costume of one of the main characters Charlotte. The outfit Charlotte is wearing is casual everyday clothing including a jumper, leggings and flat shoes which is also apart of mise-en-scene. This makes the film seem more realistic as she is only moving in to a new house so there is no need to wear anything fancy.
This screengrab from our film shows the title font and style. The style of font used is in bold capital letters so that it stands out and the audience will clearly be able to see who is starring in the film, producing, directing and editing. This is stereotypical to the horror genre as at some point in the film the antagonist wants to know what they have just seen and if it is real but most of the time it doesn't end well for them.
This screengrab from our film shows how one of the characters are introduced. The character introduced is Kieran who plays the role of the strange figure standing outside the house. This is effective as the shot shown shows the characters outfit and doesn't show their face which makes the audience wonder who he is and what he is doing.
This screengrab from our film shows the camerawork and editing. The shot shown in this screengrab is effective as Charlotte doesn't know that the strange figure is following her and the audience will feel on edge as they are expecting something intense to happen in this scene.

This screenshot from our film shows the title of the film. The title is in bold writing with a black background which relates to the horror genre. The use of the pronoun 'YOU' relates to the audience as this makes them feel like the film is aiming the title at them. This is stereotypical to the horror genre as the title of the film is usually in bold writing to put the audience on edge.
